Hybrid PvE / PvP · a Wellborn server

You crawled out of the Printer. Make the name last.

Recurrence is a hybrid PvE / PvP Rust server. Nobody can touch you or your base until your family chooses to fight. When it does, the fight has consequences: settlements remember, rumours spread, and once a month your print passes its name, and its reputation, to an heir.

Recurrence vs vanilla Rust

Same Rust. More to it.

You still gather, build, craft and raid like normal. This is what Recurrence adds.

The big four

Your name is your base.

Most servers reset everything you did each wipe. On Recurrence, what you do follows your family name across maps.

Families

A family is your group with a surname: up to 8 players who share a name and a reputation. You pick the name the first time you join, or ask to join someone else's. Without one you're a Nobody, and the settlements forget you.

/family

Settlements

Settlements are towns run by NPC settlers. Each settler has a name, a job, a daily routine and a memory of you. There are four of them, each with its own people and values:

  • Tidewater Station: fishers and sailors on the coast
  • Hydro Commune: growers who feed the island
  • Deepcut Garrison: the old security detail, working the mine
  • Cryo Camp: trappers out in the snow
/settlements

Feuds

A Feud is a 48-hour war between two families. Only families that have raised a banner can declare one, or be declared on. Families without a banner stay out of Feuds completely.

/feud

The Old World

An optional story about Cobalt, the company that built this island to test its clone printer. You follow it from monument to monument, alone or with your family.

/story

Settlements

What you can do in a settlement.

Talk and trade

Look at a settler and press E. Trade with them, take a job, give a gift. The more they like your family, the better their prices.

E

Take work

Every settlement has a notice board with deliveries, hunts, salvage jobs and bounties. Work pays scrap, XP, credits and standing.

/board

Help it grow

Settlements grow from Camp to City as players help them, adding houses, farms, a market and a gate. Bigger settlements offer more.

/settlement

Court and marry

Settlers can fall for you, and you can marry one. A spouse gives your print an heir for the next Generation.

E, then Flirt

Settlers see what you do. Rob or hurt them and word spreads to the whole settlement; do it often and they make you an Outlaw.

Hybrid PvE / PvP

PvP is optional. It is never free.

Stay peaceful and nobody can raid you. Raise your banner and you can fight and raid other banner families for 48 hours at a time. Everything you do in a fight is remembered.

War costs scrap

Declaring a Feud costs 500 scrap, paid to a settlement. A family that yields pays 300 scrap in tribute to the winners.

/feud declare

Oaths are kept

Families can agree a truce. Break it and your whole family is marked as Oathbreakers, and the settlements see it.

/feud truce

Outlaws are hunted

Prey on settlers and that settlement makes you an Outlaw. There's a bounty on your head, and you lose PvE protection in its lands.

/board

Your heir inherits it

At the next Generation your heir keeps half your standing, good or bad. Win Feuds with honour and settlements that admire valour honour your family too.

/family heir

A Generation

Youth, Prime, Elder.

The map wipes every week. A Generation runs from one full wipe to the next, and each week is a stage of your print's life.

Week 1 · Youth

Make a name

Earn standing with the settlements, take jobs, and build up your family's ledger in the Registry.

Weeks 2–3 · Prime

Marry and settle

Courting and weddings open up. Marry a settler or another player, adopt an orphan, and secure an heir.

Week 4 to the full wipe · Elder

Leave a legacy

Prepare your heir. In months with five Thursdays, Elder lasts two weeks. At the full wipe the line continues with part of your standing and an heirloom, or you start fresh with a new name.

Your XP level, skills, Cobalt credits and achievements carry on between maps. Bad standing follows you too: leaving your family doesn't wipe it.

Support the server

Keep the lights on.

No pay-to-win. Ever.

Nothing here gives you kits, gather rates, weapons or any edge over another player. Supporters get cosmetics and easier travel. Teleports follow the same rules for everyone: never out of a fight, a raid or your family's Feud raid hours.

Rules and questions

Short rules.

  1. No cheats, scripts or exploits.
  2. No hate speech, slurs or harassment in chat, voice or signs.
  3. PvP only through Feuds and the marked areas. If the game lets it happen, it's allowed; if you found a gap, report it with F7.
  4. Twig isn't protected. An all-twig base, or twig that no cupboard covers, can be broken by anyone. Upgrade it.
  5. Visit your base. A base nobody on its cupboard has visited for 3 days is marked on the map and opens to PvP.
  6. Don't block settlements, roads or monuments with building.
  7. One account per person. Alts used to farm bounties or rewards get banned.
  8. Staff decisions are final; appeals go through Discord.
Is it PvE or PvP?

Both. Everyone is protected until their family raises a banner. PvP happens in Feuds between banner families, in sieges, at raid-ready bases and against Outlaws in the lands they wronged. Two things anyone can raid: bases built only of twig, and bases nobody has visited for 3 days (they show on the map).

Do I have to be in a family?

No, but without a family name settlements don't remember you, so you won't earn standing or pass anything on.

What wipes, and what stays?

The map and bases wipe every Thursday. On the first Thursday of the month there's a full wipe, blueprints too. Your family, level, skills, credits and achievements stay. A new Generation starts with each full wipe.

Can I play solo?

Yes. A family of one works, and settlements, jobs and the story are all playable alone.

Where are you located?

Texas, US. Players across North America should get good ping.
